In October–November 2025, a series of in-person training on pain management for patients with combat-related injuries took place in Kyiv. As part of the Ukraine Without Pain initiative, more than 30 physicians from various medical specialties came to the Feofaniya Clinical Hospital to learn from a dozen experts about managing pain in patients with combat-related injuries.

The curriculum was multidisciplinary, combining lectures with intensive hands-on practice. Topics covered included pain assessment algorithms, pharmacological and non-pharmacological pain management, regional anesthesia, neuropathic and phantom pain, psychological approaches to pain management, physical rehabilitation, and modern minimally invasive interventions. Particular attention was paid to multidisciplinary teamwork and to the organization of pain management services within military medical facilities.

After each course, participants were assessed on their theoretical knowledge and practical skills and received certificates confirming successful completion of the training. According to feedback from the doctors, the program was extremely valuable and will help in their daily clinical work treating patients with combat-related injuries.

This program was another step toward Nova Ukraine’s goal of developing a systematic approach to pain management and strengthening the capacity of Ukrainian medicine under wartime conditions.
